How this is worked out
- Tax is not one fixed number written into the page. It is resolved as state sales tax plus local sales tax for the property's Department of Revenue location code, plus the special hotel and motel tax where that applies. The code and the dates in force are shown on the tax line above, next to the rate file they came from.
- Fuel uses the state average price for a gallon of regular and the mileage of your own car, doubled for the return leg. It is a real part of the decision for anyone driving down from Seattle, Tacoma or Portland.
- Cost per person per night is the figure to compare. A cabin at a higher nightly rate that sleeps six can easily beat a cheaper one that sleeps three.
- Every rate and price on this page shows the date it was last checked. Tax rates change quarterly and fuel prices change daily, so a figure without a date is worse than no figure.
What this tool does not do
- It does not take payment, hold dates, show availability or collect any personal or payment details. There is no form on this site.
- It does not pull prices from booking platforms. The nightly rate is the number you enter, because that is the only price we can be sure applies to your dates.
- It is not tax or legal advice. It is arithmetic on published rates, and the operator has the final word on what you pay.
